Two 2 pointers from the boots of Ballyholland pair Seamus Loughran and Jack Murtagh in the last few minutes at St Mary’s earned the Harps an unlikely draw after Burren had led by 8 points during the second half of Friday night’s game.

Ballyholland had started the better team against a weakened Burren outfit, with marksman Seamus Loughran hitting an upright when a goal was on. Burren raised the first green flag after great work down the left from Mussen, and Liam Kerr saw Niall Toner blast home from close range. Kerr then scored the goal of the game after a deft flick on from Ronan McGrath.

Burren were more dominant in the second period, and despite a goal from Seamus Loughran, the Harps trailed for the entire half, with Burren leading 2-14 to 0-12 after 18 minutes.

Somehow Ballyholland got themselves back in the game after Loughran’s goal, and they finished the game strongest with those two late 2-pointers from Loughran and Murtagh.
