Another milestone passed for Newry City Manager Darren Mullen on Saturday as he chalked off his 400th game as first team Manager with a 2-2 draw at home to Ballyclare Comrades.

Four minutes in and it was looking good for the Ballyholland man as top scorer, Ryan McNickle, beat Comrades goalkeeper Lewis Deane with a close range finish.

A two-goal salvo from former Newry player Brandon Doyle in the space of three minutes put the Comrades 2-1 up before defender Evan McEnteggart leveled with a header from a Georgie Poynton free kick.

In a pretty even second period, both sides probed for chances, but neither side could find a winner, with both Doyle and Newry fullback, Jamie O’Flaherty, coming close at the Showgrounds.
