Tough night for the mournemen at Pairc Esler

Meath came out on top at Pairc Esler last night after a ding dong battle under the lights, with old foes, Down.

The Mournemen led 1-09 to 0-10 at the break, thanks to a fine goal from Kilcoo man, Ryan McEvoy, who fielded a high ball from Shay Millar and finished to the net.

Meath upped the pace after the beak with a salvo of 5 unanswered points as they dominated the play. The last quarter seen the home side battle back bringing the lead down to 2 points. A late free from Meath’s Eoghan Frayne sealed the deal for the Royal County.
